Mrs. Merida earned her BS degree in Education from Troy State University (not Troy University). She went on to obtain her MEd. from the University of Mobile, Administration Certification from the University of West Alabama, and her Ed.S from the University of West Alabama. 

Mrs. Merida is our school Principal.

GHES has been Mrs. Merida's education home for 27 years. 

Mrs. Merida has been married to Jerome D. Merida, Sr. for 27 years. They have 3 children, Shannon M. Snell, Jerome D. Merida, Jr. and Shalyn E. Merida. They have 1 Son-in-love, Devante' Snell and 2 grand children, Carson Jeremiah and Elena Grace Snell. #FamilyIsEverything
