2021-2022 Wilson Hall Middle School Band
Director: D’ante Wright
The Wilson Hall Middle School Band program is made up of students in grades sixth through eight. The WHMS Band is divided into two distinct groups - the Beginner Band, serving mainly sixth-grade students, and the Intermediate Band, composed entirely of seventh and eighth-graders (Advance Band). The band program at WHMS has been in existence for the past 42 years; it is directed by Mr. D'ante Wright. It has historically been a competitive group, participating in invitational honor bands, Alabama Junior High All-State Band, marching in the Grove Hill Christmas Parade, and participating each year in the Alabama State Solo and Ensemble Competition. The band is offered to all students (including those with exceptionalities) without restriction or prerequisite. However, students are expected to maintain passing grades in all academic classes and satisfactory conduct to participate in band activities.
