• Child Nutrition COVID-19 Updates

For the safety of our students and staff and to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Clarke County School System has partnered with Cintas to assist us in sanitizing and disinfecting all 7 of our schools on a regular basis. Cintas will provide all EPA approved cleaning and sanitizing chemicals for our janitorial and kitchen staff. All bathrooms will be stocked with soap and drying towels. In addition, each classroom, cafeteria, office, library and other locations around the buildings will be stocked with hand sanitizer for convenient use. Cintas will complete a disinfecting spray down throughout the school buildings and buses on regular basis. We are confident that our cleaning procedures throughout our schools, buses and cafeterias will provide a safe learning environment for our students upon returning to school in August.

Students will continue to be served Breakfast in the Classroom. Jackson High School students will eat breakfast in the cafeteria. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria and social distancing will be encouraged when possible. Students will have access to hand sanitizer at the serving line and our cashiers will be entering the students number to avoid contact with the PIN pad. Our staff will continue to clean and disinfect surfaces and will wear masks while serving our students. For the safety of our staff and students, temperatures of our food service staff will be taken each morning upon arrival. A la carte items will be offered and we encourage you to send money to your child's account using PayPams (link on the left side of screen).

We will be offering curbside pick-up meals to students that choose virtual learning. There is a pre-order form on our website on the Child Nutrition Home Page. The parent or student will have the option to pick-up meals from the student's school on the days of the week they choose, but must complete the pre-order form. We will begin after the 2 week period when virtual students can determine whether or not they want to return to school or continue with virtual learning. Please keep checking our website for updates.

Many of our families participated in the Meals To You Program and had meals delivered to their door this summer. As you may already know, those will continue to be shipped to you until mid-August. You may recieve a delivery after school starts. Please continue to enjoy those meals as well as encourage your child to eat breakfast and lunch with us at school.

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our staff and students. We look forward to serving them nutritious meals again very soon.
