Anaphylaxis Preparedness
If a student has a SEVERE allergy or intolerance, the parent/guardian needs to indicate this issue on the Health Assessment Form and notify the school nurse by providing appropriate information from their physician. Per laws in the state of Alabama, Clarke County Schools will stock Epinephrine Auto-injectable pens on school campuses for emergency use in treating severe anaphylaxis reaction for a student, staff, or visitor. School nurses can give more details about the Anaphylaxis program in the schools. If your child has a known severe allergy, please provide appropriate physician prescribed medications (i.e., Epi-pen, Benadryl, etc.).
